After distillation on the lees and careful blind selection, Rémy Martin eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne are aged in our cellars in large-grain French oak barrels that are toasted to a consistent “medium plus” level.
Year after year, these eaux-de-vie develop in new, seasoned or old barrels, in a process which naturally brings color to the eaux-de-vie over time.
Rémy Martin Cognac follows the very strict rules of the internationally recognized Cognac GI (Geographical Indication), supervised by the BNIC (Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac), which allows, in limited quantities, the addition of sugar and caramel coloring in the composition of Cognac.
