Robert Doisneau et Rémy Martin: regard sur le cognac
To mark the bicentenary of photography and coincide with the opening of the European Heritage Days,
the House of Rémy Martin will present an exceptional exhibition dedicated to a previously unseen photographic series created by Robert Doisneau in Cognac in 1961. Opening on 19 September 2026 and running for one year, the exhibition will be housed opposite the historic House, in the heart of Cognac. For the first time, it will bring together 65 prints from this remarkable series, long preserved in the House’s archives. Taken more than sixty years ago, these photographs offer a rare insight into the landscapes, women and men that shape Rémy Martin’s identity, as well as the expertise passed down from one generation to the next in the heart of the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne terroirs.
AN ARTISTIC TRIBUTE TO THE HOUSE’S CRAFTSMANSHIP AND HERITAGE
Entitled « Robert Doisneau et Rémy Martin : Regard sur le cognac », the exhibition presents an exceptional photographic work never before revealed to the public. Commissioned in 1961 by André Renaud, the visionary leader of Maison Rémy Martin at the time, the project reflects a unique dialogue between two figures united by the same pursuit of authenticity and excellence.

AN EXHIBITION AT THE HEART OF MAJOR CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS
The exhibition will open with an exclusive preview on 18 September 2026 from 6pm, during the « Apéritifs du Patrimoine » hosted by the House of Rémy Martin ahead of the European Heritage Days. The evening will offer visitors a unique opportunity to discover the House’s heritage, which is intrinsically linked to culture and the French art de vivre.
This initiative forms an integral part of France’s national celebrations marking the becentenary of photography throughout 2026. By presenting this previously unseen series by Robert Doisneau, Rémy Mrtin pays tribute to the art of photography and its evolution, while reaffirming its longstanding commitment to creativity. The exhibition represents a key moment in the bicentenary celebrations, inviting visitors to reflect on the power of images and the transmission of heritage.
