A re-interpretation of a blending recipe dating back to 1898, this cognac is a tribute to the first revelation of the benefit of ageing Cognac Fine Champagne: the incomparable smoothness.
Abundant notes of candied fruits, autumn walnuts, and ripe figs.
Incomparable smoothness thanks to long ageing, reminiscences of exotic Chinese "five-perfume powder", and generous notes of nutmeg.
A soothing, smooth texture like deep velvet with long persistence on the palate.
Enjoy it neat for a unique tasting experience.
1898 marks a historic turning point for the house. Paul Rémy Martin, the fifth generation of the family to take the reins, revolutionized the world of cognac by creating the first aged Cognac Fine Champagne, a blend of incomparable smoothness, and noted down the recipe of this new prestige blend in the Cellar Master’s records.
In 2008, Cellar Master Pierrette Trichet drew inspiration from the original blend and named it 1898 Coupe Fine Champagne.
